I don't know the basis for Amazon Addict's criticism and one star review - the book is accurate, and a great read. In fact it's a must read if you're planning on going. I've been to Hedo II several times and had a blast. Even if you have no plans to go there the book is a fun read and a vicarious thrill to excite your imagination. Easiest 5-star review I've ever given. (Actually, the only one, come to think of it.)If you can spring for it, the longer version with the color pictures (a whopping $74.95) is worth the price for the added 'color' (pun intended). You might have to contact the author directly at Scarlet Oh! publishing to get it.

This book is perfect for newbies wanting to get some info as well as for “repeat offenders” like myself. Having been there as recently as four months ago, I can vouch for the accuracy of the contents (and will admit I immediately came down with a case of DIF while reading it) I found the book informative (just when you think you know everything about your favorite place, you learn something new!!) and entertaining. You disassemble the book for use (just open up the staples), so that the inside of the cover becomes the removable sticker surface. They DO come in super handy for a stressful situation where you need to redirect attention elsewhere: I bought a lot of the different ones, and her mom keeps some in her diaper bag when she needs one! They ARE adorable, and make for lovely make-believe play. I just wish the stickers/books were larger, so little hands would have less trouble. Like at the airport when she was getting tired, we used the Airport stickers. Cute.

First, I will admit I am a big fan of Creek Stewart and all of his books. Survival Hacks is one, if not the best, of Creek's books to date. The book is logically divided into various sections of survival topics. Many of Creek's topics delightfully begins with how and when he first learned the tip, or some beneficial background information. The tips listed are "real world" instructional information, and not some far fetched MacGyver projects that us mere mortals could never duplicate.There are many topic related drawings, I would prefer photographs, but the cost of the book would have been doubled or tripled. There are 9 full page photos showing examples of 7 EDC, (Every Day Carry), kits that are very helpful. The kit contents are listed with the reasons they are important.If you are new to the world of prepping/survival, or have been studying the topic for years, this book is a must have for your reference books.Thanks for reading this far. This is my first review of anything ever and I hope you find it helpful.

The title clearly says, “Survival Hacks: Over 200 ways to use everyday items for Wilderness Survival.” Most of the “hacks” cannot be used for wilderness survival. The majority of these “hacks” could be used in a suburban or urban environment when the grid is down, however, not in the wilderness survival situation. For instance, the slingshot whisker biscuit, how many of you carry a paintbrush in your backpack or bug-out-bag? The hobo candle heater, who carries terra cotta flower pots with them into the wilderness. The shelf bracket stove; how many carry metal shelf brackets into the wilderness. The brick rocket stove; how many of you are willing to carry bricks into the wilderness in order to utilize this wilderness survival “hack?” How about the pallet shelter, who is going to carry pallets into the wilderness to make a shelter. In addition, how many of you have tried to take apart a pallet. You need the right tools and you need heavy tools. These are just a few of the “hacks” which don’t make sense in a wilderness survival situation.A lot of the “hacks” in this book require prior planning and tools which most people do not carry into the wilderness. While this book does have a lot of interesting “hacks” which can be utilized in an urban or suburban environment with the proper tools, this is not meant for wilderness survival. If the author wishes to promote wilderness survival, then my suggestion would be for him to really re-evaluate every hack in this book and make sure it is something that can actually be used in the wilderness.In all honesty, I cannot recommend this book for wilderness survival as quite a few “hacks” in this book are very impractical for that genre. For those of you who do not agree, this is only my opinion and nothing more. Thank you for reading and good luck.

This book was quite disappointing. If you live in a region where water is abundant, this might be a good book. If you're afraid of being stranded in your own home without electricity or natural gas for a month... it could be useful. But if you life in a part of the country where the climate is arid and water is the main concern, this book is woefully inadequate. It didn't even offer how to make a carbon filter out of coal and a soda bottle. Want to make a spoon? Well, that's definitely in there. He offers many ways to make a fire without wood, but tell me where the heck I'm going to find lighter fluid, Heet, or rubbing alcohol in the remote woods? Nearly everything offered can be seen on Youtube or Buzzfeed.

The 200 hacks weren't new. The hand drawn pictures were not terribly useful. Out of the 200 topics, I would only count 10 or so as being meanful to me. Perhaps if you were just starting out down this trail it'd be more valuable, but anyone with more than a year or two of research into the survival woodcraft fields will be disappointed. I was excited about this book, but it was not at all what I expected based on Creek's earlier books which I thought were great.

I bought this book as a Father's Day present for my husband. The book is fun, but do not buy it if you are expecting it to show you serious survival techniques of any sort. The majority of the ideas are more of a "perhaps fun to try as a neat science experiment", but a lot of them are not even that....(like the bra-breathing mask). In all honestly, there were less than five that we think could actually be used in a survival situation...but even then it would have to be a perfectly constructed survival situation, where you had all of the spare materials that you needed for each 'hack'.

I found the book to be boring I wouldn't recommend I thought this was a book on survival in the wilderness like for example things that I could use in the wilderness to survive not with things u can find at home to survive

His best book so far. Creek is an excellent writer who knows his subject from first hand experience & who can organize his information logically & express it succinctly with clarity. He teaches you to grasp the principles behind the methods so that you will be prepared to adapt them to the varied predicaments you may encounter.This book contains the information presented in his prior book without the delightful interweaving of the Hunger Games examples. It does, however, contain valuable new content. I intend to keep it in my Evac Bag (every year we seem to face real possibilities of needing one due to local fires, & Creek's book on building a Bug of Bag has been invaluable in helping me to assemble what I may need) until I am certain & have assimilated it's contents. There are other excellent good survival authors, but Creek is outstanding among them IMHO.

I have all of Creek Stewart's books so far. This is by far the best informational documentation of survival hacks using simple items that nearly everyone has their house. It is informative yet has a bit of fun and humor, and easy to follow directions. This is my favorite book of Creek Stewart's writings. I love it and it's well worth the cost. in fact I would have paid more for this book.

This is exactly what the title implies: a workbook. These are worksheets: Multiplying by 1 through 10, 100 problems per set of multiplying one digit numbers by one digit numbers - 2 x 1, 2 x 2, 3 x 2, 3 x 3. Then it has sets of Dividing by 1 through 5, followed by mixed sets of dividing by 1 through 9. And so on. There are no instructions but there are answer sheets. These workbooks will keep an active child busy on rainy (or snowy) afternoons as long as there is an older person around who can set the mood. I had fun with it - as a paid income tax preparer, I can use the workbook to sharpen my skills. After all, when was the last time you had to solve: 989 x 463 or 450 / 18, by hand? (No calculators, that would be cheating!) An excellent resource.

My step-son was having some issues staying focused in school with reading and comprehension, so when I received this, I thought it might be a fun way to pique his interest and get his grades up. He hated it at first and complained EVERY time we had him do a couple of pages after school, but now if I tell him to do his pages, he willingly does them and understands what he's doing. It's an awesome little book, and it explains things extremely well. The last several times I've told him to do his pages, he's done it by himself and I checked his work and it was perfect. Even his penmanship has improved with the practice. I'll be ordering more soon!

When needing a few extra practice sheets for multiplication and division, this workbook is a great resource. It breaks down problems by using a single specific digit such as multiplying by 2 as well as gives a full worksheet of all mixed problem. Another great added bonus is how the workbook also includes an answer sheet. Just in case you needed a fast way of checking your work. I highly recommend this practice workbook.

I really liked this book. My nephews are are on the second grade and they practice their math skills on this book. It's a lot of help. There are pages for upper level and lower level. Overall, this book really helps kids on their math skills.

The workbook at a glimpse is laid out well for students. it has no distractions and is a in a get to work type format, if you will. Large numbers on each problem make it easy for all to follow along and for glancing over the shoulder to ascertain the students place and pace. In the back it has a easy to understand layout of the answers. The skill level challenges increase as you progress through the pages.

This is a good book with lots of practice multiplications and division problems. I highly recommend this workbook for home use or if someone is homeschooling. The four issue Hellboy mini-series "Seed of Destruction" came out over the course of 1994. Those four issues were ultimately collected and released in hardback and paperback omnibus form, but those omnibus editions are hard to find and pricey. Now, (or at least as of the date of this review), each of the four comics, which were reissued by the publisher in 2015, is available as a free kindleunlimited download. (I'm posting this on the sites for all four issues, mainly to encourage people to borrow the whole set and create their own omnibus.)As to the the series, we start with a flashback intro to the Hellboy origin story. That's about half of the first comic. Then we set up the ongoing story. It's fifty years later and the last survivor from the original Hellboy discovery team, Hellboy's beloved Dr. Bruttenholm, (aka "Broom"), is telling Hellboy about a tragic and doomed expedition to the Arctic in search of some ancient, mystic artifacts. At that point everything hits the fan and we're off to the races. NO SPOILERS, but we have vampire frogs, a creepy mansion on a dead lake, a creepy family, tentacles, curses, an evil villain set on world domination, and a vaguely Lovecraftian feel that works well enough for this opening frame. On top of that we are introduced to Abe Sapien and Liz Sherman and the BPRD, and we get a little more on Hellboy's Nazi occultist backstory, so this really does set many of the pieces in motion for the entire continuing Hellboy saga. And beside all that, it's just smart, fast-paced, fun.This mini-series introduced Hellboy to the world and it is the place to start if you are new to Hellboy, and a great memory piece for those who have followed Hellboy's adventures and elaborate story ever since. Note that in Issue #1 the character is just getting up to speed; he isn't the tough talking, wise cracking, engagingly conflicted and yet witty guy we've come to know. This Hellboy starts out as a more traditional general purpose hero. (Issue #1 wasn't even written by Mignola.) That said, by the end of the series we have been introduced to many major characters and we begin to see the outlines of the Hellboy to come.What is there, right from the beginning, is Mignola's gorgeous art. Heavy black lines, a few detailed background scene setting pages, many spare but atmospheric panels, sometimes just a suggestion of action - this work was often impressionistic but was never confusing or unclear. The Hellboy look is unique and compelling.I was curious about how comics would appear as downloads. I downloaded these four issues to a Kindle Fire and they worked fine. An entire page comes up on the screen. You can read it, but the print is very small. You can double tap the first panel on a page and then cycle through each panel from the page, with each panel being the size of the screen. Once you go through the four to six panels the next thing up is the next full page. You follow the same procedure there. This is a little cumbersome, but it's a price I'm willing to pay to read this full mini-series for free.So, bottom line, this is an excellent and accessible Hellboy and a good deal. If you've ever wondered about this character, or if you'd like to take a trip down memory lane, this is a great find.

Hellboy is in a fight for his life, he is barely clinging to consciousness while the bad guy continues to mumble his incantation in the background. Sven is slowly beating Hellboy and Hellboy’s own game of who can punch harder, and who has a harder skull. Liz is in a trance and being used to channel her internal power into the evil beast so it can grow. Abe is lost in the dungeon of the mansion and is overtaken by an unknown force.By the end Hellboy looks the worse for wear, Liz is by his side and Abe intervened at just the right moment, or did he? Either way, the day is won and the rubble that was once a mansion means Hellboy was here.

A good storyline that concludes, with a sense of mystery. The first story of bell boy was good. I highly recommend it to any comic reader. The ending leaves bits of the story open to allow for more storylines to branch off.

This four part series was really my first introduction to Hellboy, and I was hesitant in the beginning. But now I think I'll read more- he seemed a bit Thing meets Spider Man, and I dig it.

This was a pretty good intro for me into the Hellboy mythos. I didn't know if I would be more or less interested, but if given another chance to read other stories, I would.

Classic hell boy! If you are into this series don't miss this one. He'll boy is a unique comic and illustrates a perfect mix of fantasy and historical fiction

Def read if fan on Hellboy or comics or even paranormal in general it's got Nazi Thule society. Everything weird that has a basic grain of truth you could find in a Hb comic

The artwork is simply phenomenal and the colors are absolutely fantastic. I cannot express just how much I adore the artwork, but I can say that the story line is also amazing, a perfect conclusion to the beginning. Was it a little too neat of a wrap up, yes, but it is setting up what’s to come.
