I deeply enjoyed this memoir. I am not a mountaineer, but I have great respect for those that pursue this adventure. Sir Hillary candidly shares his own strengths and weaknesses that lead to his amazing feats. While I believe his earlier memoir is focused solely on his mountaineering, this one covers his feats in the Himalayas, his adventure in Antarctica, and his philanthropy in his later years.I found the book fascinating, and Sir Hillary's writing style very engaging. If you are not familiar with certain mountaineering terms, or Nepalize culture, you may need to look up some words that he uses, but I enjoyed broadening my vocabulary as well.

I was given a beautiful first edition book which is signed by the author. The book was so nice that there was no way I could read it. So I downloaded the text for the Kindle and read it on a screen. It was worthwhile. This is a book about the life of Ed Hillary. He was the first man to stand on the summit of Mt. Everest. This was many years ago, before guiding groups and the new equipment. The hike would have been twenty times harder. But he did it. The book begins with his famous journey to the top of the world, but it continues to look at some of his other adventures. He was the first man to drive across Antarctica. He accomplished some highly amazing goals. But most importantly, he really gave back to the culture. He established numerous hospitals and schools in the Nepal region. He was a humanitarian for most of his life. Though, he also had to go through deep pain. He lost one of his children and his wife in a plane crash in the mountains. I really enjoyed this book, and learning more about this man. This is a great read, and a great story.

this book came Just as described. It was a purchase for a school report for my child. It was very helpful in getting her some more details of this event. It came on time and was very useful!

Such a good insight into Sir Edmund Hillary's life, there was so much i didn't know about him until i read this and now i have a whole new respect for such an amazing man

Still reading book, but so far I love it.

I enjoyed this book which was a well written account of Sir Ed and Tensings climb. As a NewZealander I relived the day it happened.

I bought both the "easy piano" and "piano solo". (Easy piano is on the LEFT side of the pic; Piano solo on the RIGHT.)I am a big fan of the Harry Potter series since I grew up in the era of the Harry Potter books (I'm a grown lady now), and thought since I've only played piano for a few months, let me start with Easy Piano. I learn music faster than most people, so I didn't have trouble getting the fingering, although I had to spend 3-5 hours a day for a few days to be able to play 1 page of music well. The Easy Piano has a lot of numbers above the notes to help you with fingering, and was useful. The biggest problem I had was the arrangement. I disliked Hedwig's Theme so much, it doesn't sound like the music in the movie, and I wanted something close to that. So I purchased the Piano Solo, and it arrived the same day.What a big difference! You can see my photo for comparison. Yes, this version is much better, the sound is nearly identical to the movie. 5/5 stars for that. There are almost no numbers above the notes so be ready to practice this with a pencil nearby. I'm upset Gildory Lockharts Theme is not in this book (nor in Easy Piano), I'll have to find that online, and Harry's Christmas is not in these books either. Very sad. I will say this, the Piano Solo has fewer pages of movie still images than in Easy Piano. Why is that? I don't know. As a giant fan, I would like all the movie still images in my Piano Solo book, but at least I get to view them in the Easy Piano version. I don't think that's a factory issue.I'd recommend the Piano Solo instead of Easy Piano purely on its arrangement. I believe an early intermediate would be able to handle the Piano Solo with lots of practice.

Daughter loves the music but this is NOT for beginners. (Daughter has been playing piano for 3 years now) The only reason I am not returning is because my daughter hopes to play in a few years....

Love this. I wish I would've known the level more accurately though. I would say a piano student that has had several years of lessons would be comfortable with this (middle school age).

This is exactly what I wanted! The pieces are simple enough that you can learn them with a bit of work but advanced enough that you don't sound like an idiot playing one note at a time (I'm looking at you, Easy Piano). My one complaint is that it doesn't include Christmas at Hogwarts, which I thought would be included without question - I was tricked by Harry in Winter, but it turned out to be really pretty so I guess I'll get over it.

This is an excellent book of piano arrangements for most of the music from the Harry Potter series. I have taught piano for 30 years and these arrangements are intermediate to advanced. The arrangements are well done and fun to play.

Maybe I am wrong in my expectations but I generally consider big note to be fairly basic, and a step somewhat beyond 5 finger and before easy... an early, early intermediate. That was not the case with this book, which I purchased for a 7 year old with 3 years of lessons. I bought this book and another publisher' early intermediate book, thinking that would be a back up in case this was too simple. Turns out that book is the simpler arrangements overall.

has all the music you want to play, NOT SIMPLIFIED so can be challenging for the beginner player

I'd say you need some good music reading skills to play this, but it's probably as pared down as they could make it. Very good quality construction when it comes to the binding. Not going to fall apart on you any time soon.
